Health, Education and Financial Stability
United Way of Addison County has had a positive impact on the local community for more than 40 years with the help of community volunteers. These volunteers raise local dollars that are used to fund agencies, programs and collaborations that effectively and efficiently address community needs in the areas of Health, Education and Financial Stability.
Community needs and the cost of providing programmatic solutions continue to grow even as traditional state, federal and foundation funding sources dwindle. As a result, United Way has become more strategic than ever in how it invests dollars back into our community. Some of our strategies include becoming more adept at identifying community needs, prioritizing needs that can best be addressed by United Way support, and helping agencies to better link their programs and outcomes.
This is a community process from beginning to end and requires the time, expertise and participation of many community members including volunteers, donors, and service providers.
