Free Tax Help

Free Tax Assistance

Sponsored by RSVP, AARP, and The United Way of Addison County

Beginning in February 2017, RSVP and the United Way of Addison County will once again be offering two free programs to help you file your taxes! It’s a great way to potentially save some extra money after the holidays by avoiding tax preparation fees.

RSVP will have AARP-trained and certified volunteers available to prepare state and federal income tax returns and answer tax questions for low- and middle-income residents of Addison County. Special attention will be given to those ages 60 and older. Appointments will be available at the Bixby Library in Vergennes, the Bristol Rescue Squad and the Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association.

The United Way is also a partner with myfreetaxes.com, a tax preparation website that allows filers who made less than $64,000 to file online anytime, anywhere for free. Filers needing extra assistance may also make an appointment with one of our assistants at the United Way of Addison County in Middlebury. For more information, please go to: www.myfreetaxes.com

Safe, secure, easy and free!

To determine which program is best for you, or to schedule an appointment, call our seasonal hotline at 398-0004 starting in January 2017.
