January 12, 9-3 pm
Middlebury Fitness will be sponsoring an exciting fundraising event on Sunday, January 12, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for United Way of Addison County. They will host UWAC’s third SPIN UNITED! This will be six hours of non-stop action as spin cyclist teams and individuals pedal their way to a win for our community. Spinners can ride in one hour segments or the whole six hours. Spinners will ride as an individual or form a team to vie for recognition as the individual or team that can raise the most money! Every hour participants will spin with a different and amazing local instructor who will keep them going and keep them strong. All participants will receive a water bottle and snacks.

United in Harmony A Cappella Competition
April 9, 7-9 pm
A fun filled evening of a cappella entertainment featuring some of the area's best a cappella groups in a friendly competititon to help raise funds and awareness of UWAC's ongoing non-profit mission in our community. This is a fundraiser, held at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater. Sponsorship helps to fund a grand prize in each of three categories, cover printing costs for the program and advertsitind, and the fee for the venue. Sponsorship dollars in excess of costs, as well as ticket sales will go directly into the general fund to be distributed among our 29 funded partners. All sponsors will be featured in the event program.

Community Celebration
May 26, 4:30-6:00 PM
UWAC will hold its Annual Community Celebration in May at Tourterelle Inn & Restaurant.  The focus of this free, family friendly event (which includes hors d'oeuvres) is thanking and honoring the people who help our friends and neighbors achieve better lives by working with us to make our campaign a success. This includes the people who handle payroll campaigns at local businesses, our local businesses themselves, the volunteers who work on the grant funding teams and the people who work behind the scenes like the ‘mail ladies’!
New this year will be Two Senior High School Volunteer Scolarship Awards, given to high school seniors who have performed services having a positive impact on our community and the student. Given that seniors will of course have gone off to college by September, we present the Senior Award at this event. All senior nominees will be recognized at this event.

Robert Frost Reception
Visit us at Stonecutter Spirits on June 15, 5-7 PM!
This is a Leadership Donor thank you event.

Days of Caring
September 22 and 24, 2016
‘Days of Caring’ is United Way’s annual volunteer event.  The 21st Days of Caring will take place on Thursday, September 22 and Saturday, September 24. In 2015 we deployed 870 volunteers!   Volunteers will be working at nonprofits, schools, libraries, and towns throughout the county. The projects range from activities aide, to painter, gardener, builder and baker and everything in between.
Many businesses allow employees to take a half day or whole day off to take part in this event.  Some businesses use Days of Caring as a team building experience.  When you and your staff volunteer, you are helping budget conscious organizations tackle jobs they can’t do alone. If you do, then thanks for accepting the LIVE UNITED challenge by volunteering!
Also with your help, United Way of Addison County has been recognizing and celebrating the work of young volunteers for more than 20 years.   Our LIVE UNITED Youth Service Award criteria are the same as stated above in the Community Celebration. The amount awarded to each recipient will depend on the dollars raised by sponsorship and split evenly among the winners.
We kick this day off with a buffet breakfast and as stated above, we will give out student and community volunteer awards at this time. The event will be held at the Middlebury Congregational Church and will end by gathering on the church steps to take a group photo before heading out to the individual job sites!

Dine the United Way
October and November
Addison County restaurants participate by pledging to donate a portion of profits during a specified period during October and/or November. We advertise the restaurants and the program for you with the goal of driving additional business your way. Staff and board persons at United Way definitely enjoy the extra outings and discovering new dining experiences during this time! All proceeds go in to our general fund to support our funded agencies. A listing of those agencies can be found on our website at

Middlebury College Football Raffle
November tbd by MC schedule
This is an annual fundraiser for our general fund that is run by volunteers who sell raffle tickets at the Middlebury College Parents Weekend football game in November. They work the parking lots before the game and then head into the stands to sell more tickets. There are generally three large prizes raffled off at this event. We love our volunteers- perhaps you would like to join them this year!
