2017 “LIVE UNITED” Youth Volunteer Recognition
United Way of Addison County fosters community service in all community members, but especially in our youth. In that spirit we will be honoring young people at our Days of Caring breakfast on September 21st, 8 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Middlebury. Families are encouraged to attend these award events and be recognized along with their students.
Nominations for the Volunteer Recognition can be submitted to United Way if the nominee meets the following criteria:
- Addison County student
- 21 years old or younger
- The volunteer service has made an impact on a non-profit organization, its clients, the community, and their own personal learning.
We look for nominees who have shown initiative and creativity in developing a community service project, service that has resulted in a positive impact in the community, and personal learning on the part of the volunteer. Students do not need to submit an essay for this recognition but we will ask the nominated students to speak about their service experience at the breakfast.
This recognition will come with a small stipend (dependent on sponsorships) for the student to donate to the health/human service agency of their choice.
Please include information on the impact the volunteer’s service has had on a program, an agency and its clients, or the community at large in one or more of the following areas of impact:
- Financial Stability
PLEASE COMPLETE THE NOMINATION FORM BY September 13, 2017
